How To Choose a Resistance Band
Resistance bands, tubes and loops are excellent multi-purpose tools that can be used for anything including strength training, stretching or rehabilitation. So no matter what your training needs are, HART has a wide range of products to help.
It is a common theme that all bands, tubes and loops provide resistance to replicate a variety of exercises by increasing the load for specific muscles to work against. This action causes the muscles to contract or extend in a controlled movement. However, it can be difficult to understand what is the right size or shape of a product based on your individual needs. Have a read of our overview of each type of resistance product and follow our easy guide to pick which is right for you.
Resistance Tubes
Resistance Tubes are an effective and practical way to strengthen and stabilise upper and lower body muscles. With the benefit of handles, specific muscles body can be targeted including shoulders, back, legs or arm muscles. HART Resistance Tubes come in a rubber latex tube or with an additional Safety Sleeve to provide extra protection against wear and tear as well as acting as a safe stretch limit.
Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are particularly effective for helping strengthen, stretch and stabilise smaller muscle groups, such as the rotator cuff, scapula, knee and glute muscles. The bands can be tied around itself or other objects to replicate a wide range of movements. Resistance bands are a great compact tool for adding tension to any exercise and are great for strengthening small muscle groups.
Resista Loops
Resista Loops are an ideal way to improve strength & mobility particularly in the lower body muscles including glutes, knees, abductors and hips. The continuous latex rubber loop provides a comfortable alternative to tying resistance bands and helps eliminate wear and tear. This training aid is great for muscle activation exercises or assisting limb alignment.
Strength Bands
Strength bands are a popular aid for stretching and strengthening both upper and lower body muscles. The long 105cm band length makes this product ideal for upper body exercises, as well as to help stretch and strengthen large lower body muscles like the hips. Strength bands also have the added benefit to be used as a training aid for a variety of exercises such as assisted chin ups. Strength bands are also a great tool for power development and explosive based movements because they can be tied around barbells and benches for squats and presses.
Mini Strength Bands
Similarly to the regular Strength band, the Mini Strength band is a great aid for targeting muscle groups for rehab and strengthening exercises. The mini band is a continuous loop that is 30cm long and like the Resista Loop is ideal for small muscle groups. The band can easily wrap around feet, ankles or knees to add more intensity than Resista Loops. This versatile and portable tool helps to increase resistance of any movement or workout, and is useful for higher resistance power exercises as you don’t have to wrap loop multiple times to achieve the desired resistance.
